Name
Becoming a Trauma-Informed Educator
Description

Have you ever had students who are highly anxious, explosive, or who completely shut down at times and have been left feeling unequipped to deal with it? Join me for an empowering workshop aimed at helping educators create trauma-informed classrooms that promote healing and emotional regulation. Sharing my personal experiences and a deep hope for our students, I’ll explore how trauma affects learning and behavior. In this interactive session, you’ll learn to identify trauma's impact on the nervous system and recognize how unprocessed experiences shape student reactions. We’ll cover the 4 R’s of trauma-informed care and discuss how to meet the diverse needs of all learners, including those who are neurodivergent. Through hands-on activities, we’ll delve into the science of trauma, examine Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), and develop practical strategies for fostering safety and connection in your classroom. You’ll leave equipped with actionable tools and a plan to implement immediately. Together, we’ll reflect on our own experiences and explore how our faith informs our teaching. Join the conversation to transform our classrooms into sanctuaries of support, resilience, and understanding for all students.
