Bio
My name Eliza Boer (please call me Toni).
My family is from the Beaver Lake Nation in Alberta, and I am Cree/Metis.
I worked in the school district in Prince George as an Indigenous Education worker for 15 years.
I returned to school when I was 36 and earned my Bachelor's in Indigenous Studies and finished with B.Ed.
I have worked as a classroom teacher at Westside Academy for 7 years.
I work to integrate First People's ways of knowing in the classroom, and work to lead the staff I work with in understanding reconciliation, the importance of Indigenous education and how Indigenous education does not have to be just for the Indigenous Educator. My goal is to walk alongside fellow educators and support them in implementing meaningful Indigenous practises into their classroom.
