Over three sessions, our goal will be to learn more about how our schools are already connected with different groups within our communities, identify areas where we may want to create more opportunities, and clarify the difference between being culturally aware and actively responsive in our practices. As a geography teacher and chaperone for international trips, I am always looking for unique ways to engage young learners in the world around them. From possible leadership initiatives to classroom projects, what intentional ways can we deepen our listening skills and broaden our appreciation for others in our community?
