Susan Dykshoorn is an Assistant Professor at Trinity Western University in Langley, BC, as well as a Grade 1 teacher at Abbotsford Christian School. She has been an educator for many years, holding a Bachelor of Education, a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction K-12, and a Doctor of Education, Curriculum and Instruction. At TWU, she teaches courses related to curriculum, instruction, and assessment, as well as curriculum and pedagogy courses in math, science, and literacy. In the past, she was a Lead Teacher at CSI’s Christian School Educators Science Academy for 4 years, wrote Science and Bible Curriculum for CSI, led professional development workshops on various topics, and created School Curriculum with a Science and STEM focus for a local grassroots fundraising organization, Run for Water. Providing teaching, support, and tools for increased confidence, student engagement, and achievement remains a priority and passion in her various roles. In her free time, Susan enjoys spending time with her family, serving at church, being outdoors, crafting, drinking coffee, and eating chocolate.
